The Singapore history in brief

In 1980, the branch office of Nishimatsu was registered. After a few years, success was realised in a bid in joint venture with a leading local contractor, Lum Chang Building Contractors Pte Ltd. for the MRTC Contract 107B. This contract calls for the Design and Construction of the City Hall Station including the MRTC Operational Control Centre, PUB Substation and four sections of connection tunnels for the Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRTC).

This was followed in September 1984 with the award of the Construction of the Bishan Depot covering an area of 34 hectares, also for MRTC.

Yet another contract was entrusted by MRTC to the joint venture in October 1985 for the design and construction of Bugis and Lavender Stations including the connecting tunnels.

The contract for the Japanese Kindergarten in 1988 saw the commencement of the building operations that was followed by interior fitting out works for Nippon Cargo Airlines, Bank of America, Taiheiyo Securities, Japan Maxnics International, Shimadzu, All Nippon Airways, World Air Network, Long-Term Credit Bank, Norinchukin Bank, Seiyu Department Store, Marubeni.

Major building projects completed included UOB Plaza 1, Odeon Towers, Extension and Alterations to Orchard Hotel, Bugis Junction, Valley Park Condominium, OCBC Centre East, Valley Point, Causeway Point, Prudential Tower and paragon Extension and new Office Tower. Others include Sasaki Electric City, Caterpillar warehouse and officem Three Bond factory, upgrading works to Paragon basement and Singtel's Headquarters.

Besides the threee contracts awarded in the earlier phase of the MRT, Nishimatsu was also awarded the Changi Airport Line Contract 503 as well as the North-East Line Contract 708.

Other Civil Engineering and Piling Contracts completed include Stage 2, Site Preparation of the Pulau Seraya Power Station, Suntec City's Piling and Basement works, UOB Plaza substructure works, Bugis Junction's Foundation and Basement, Tan Tock Seng Hospital's substructure works.
